hi everyone
ive been watchin some videos on utube about the top speed on the exc 125 and i carnt understand how some people state they can get 80-100 mph on the road , out of there 125 exc?????
i own a 2006 125 exc and i carnt get anywhere near that speed, maybe 65-70mph???
im running a standard setup apart from the front and rear sprokets,im using 14t on front and 46t on rear.
to get another 40 mph out of this bike seems inpossable to me, but would like that extra speed!!
does anyone have any views on this,,,cheers

Why???!!! Its a small bore 2 stroke enduro bike! 
Seems pointless mate, if you wanna go that fast buy a road bike.............

It all comes down to gearing mate.
By increasing the rear and decreasing the front sprocket sizes you effectively down gear the bike giving you greater acceleration at the expense of top speed, obviously if you gear a bike up the opposite is true.

i cant imagine doing 80 to 100 on a lightweight bike with knobbly tyres,,,, that must be a new kind of scary

+1 on that :smokin: I rode a Husky 125 07 plate (totally standard) a couple of weeks ago- YES it reached 70 ish on the lanes, but only briefly.
They are just not designed for it, sounds like kids wanting to be grown ups to me :rotflmao:

Borrow a gps, and next time you hear shite like this, let him have a blast with the gps in his jacket and watch his face when you both read the gps top speed. ( that's assuming he makes it back without seizing his engine )
